FAQ

  • FAQs
  • With the industry shift to 800V architectures, thermal loads are higher. Can these filters sustain flow rates required for fast-charging thermal loops without causing a significant pressure drop?
Absolutely. The bypass valve is calibrated for high-viscosity changes at extreme temperatures. Our CFD simulation indicates that the new pleat geometry can reduce the initial pressure drop by approximately 15% compared to the previous generation (CFD simulation result; actual performance may vary), allowing for higher flow rates essential for 350kW fast-charging thermal management loops.

  • For hydrogen fuel cell models, does the filter housing meet the SAE J2579 standards for hydrogen systems? specifically regarding permeation and burst pressure?
Yes, the housing is constructed from carbon fiber-reinforced nylon to prevent hydrogen permeation. It is certified to withstand burst pressures up to 1.5 times the working pressure (1000 bar) and passes the strict helium leak rate tests required by SAE J2579, ensuring safety in high-pressure storage and delivery lines.
  • Are the filter housings recyclable? Many of our new EV clients have strict ISO 14001 requirements for end-of-life components.

Yes, the latest generation housings are made from mono-material polypropylene without metal reinforcement inserts. This makes them fully recyclable in standard plastic waste streams, aligning with the circular economy goals of major automotive OEMs.

  • How does the filtration media in the new RockFilter series react with dielectric coolants used in direct battery cooling systems? Is there a risk of swelling or chemical degradation over time?
Our new series utilizes a specialized fluoropolymer-based media designed specifically for high-resistivity dielectric fluids. Unlike standard nitrile-based seals which may swell, our composite material maintains dimensional stability and filtration efficiency even after 2,000 hours of in-house immersion testing at 80°C (in-house test data; actual performance depends on operating conditions). It ensures no ionic contamination affects the battery management system.
